Smoothie Sunday

I slept until 9 today! So late! Woohoo! After a quick piece of toast, Abby and I hit the road to get a 5k in before breakfast. I love doing my run first thing in the morning so that I don’t have to worry about getting a workout in for the rest of the day. I took todays run out a lot slower than yesterday’s. My legs are a little tired and sore, but I wanted to run today since my race is in a week. I refueled with a coconut water and a trip to Trader Joe’s.

Yes, I wore these out in public. While my inner fashionista died a little, my feet gave a sigh of relief.

After picking up some groceries, I made some awesome smoothies. The blender that I bought at Target the other day is great. It is much more powerful than our old one, and it was so cheap!! Abby’s smoothie was chocolate milk, lots of frozen berries, and chocolate protein powder. Mine was vanilla soy milk, a handful of spinach, whole banana, and lots of frozen strawberries.

Hot oatmeal with apples and cinnamon was the perfect breakfast on a cold and dreary fall day.

Sadly I don’t get to spend my afternoon curled up with a good book or watching a movie. The mall awaits me. I work just enough hours to get hungry, but not get a break so I packed myself a little hummus and pita bread. I don’t want to eat too much because when I get home I’m making soyaki chicken and soba noodles!!

I’m physically exhausted right now, and I’m definitely experiencing my post-run crash. This is going to be a long shift at the mall. However, this is my LAST Sunday at the mall EVER! Maybe that thought will give me the energy to work.

Oh and I am seriously contemplating an ice bath. I’m a baby though and I’m a little nervous about how cold it will feel (um hurt). That and I’m cold just sitting in my dining room so do I really want to jump into a bathtub full of ice water?

How are you all enjoying this dreary fall Sunday? Or are you enjoying a hot and sunny Sunday?
